Package:Pre-filled syringe of 2 ml (40mg/2ml)
Recommended therapeutic cycle: 3 intra-articular injections
Indications: Sintial acts as a substitute of synovial fluid into joints affected by degenerative or mechanical osteoarthritis that gives pain or reduced mobility
Storage: The product should be stored in its original packaging at a temperature between 0 and 25 °C, away from direct sunlight and frost
It is a Ce-marked Medical Device conforming to directive MDD 93/42/CEE, containing 20 mg/ml of hyaluronic acid obtained by fermentation and chemically unmodified. Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide present especially in the synovial fluid, and acts on joints both as a cartilage and ligaments lubricant and as a shock absorber. Numerous studies have shown that intra-articular injections of hyaluronic acid into joints affected by osteoarthritis restore synovial fluid viscosity and elasticity of, with a consequent reduction in pain and improvement in the joint’s mobility.
Sintial is an infiltrative Medical Device of the last generation consisting of hyaluronic acid molecules obtained by bacterial fermentation so that it is pure, biocompatible and stabilized.
Cross-linkedThe cross-linking mode generates a reticulum of hyaluronic acid molecules which confer a prolonged intra-articular half-life. Therefore Sintial appears to be more resistant to enzymatic degradation of hyaluronidase and free radicals maintaining a an intraarticular residence time extremely prolonged, necessary to carry out its viscosupplementation activities.
The mode of cross-linking also constitutes a natural slow release system of hyaluronic acid molecules of low molecular weight wich, by acting on the synoviocytes of cartilage, induce endogenous synthesis of new hyaluronic acid.
